About
A brightly shaded acrylic artwork that illustrates Goddess Laxmi, well adorned in saree with a lotus in one hand and an owl beside her while she is blessing people for a good and healthy life. The goddess is also known particularly for being associated with a lotus flower and is also at times referred to as simply the Lotus Goddess. She is also known to be a member of the Buddhist pantheon as well. The goddess has no temples built after her name but she is worshiped in one of the lightest and most important festivals of Hinduism which is Diwali or the “festivals of lights” held annually. Goddess Laxmi is symbolic of rising above the material world through divinity, of being good in the midst of negative influences. Likely the lotus limns how to transcend material wealth for spiritual progress.
